New deadly Israeli air strike as violence escalates
The worst violence between Israel and the Gaza Strip in nearly a year entered its second day on Saturday, as Israeli aircraft killed at least 15 militants, according to Palestinian health officials. Militants responded by firing nearly 100 rockets, seriously wounding an Israeli civilian.
The attack took place at the Nahal Oz crossing in southern Israel, where fuel is piped into the Gaza Strip.
It occurred just after the latest delivery of fuel funded by the European Union, western diplomats told Reuters.
Two Palestinian militant groups, Islamic Jihad and the Popular Resistance Committees, are claiming responsibility for the attack.
